    I still cannot believe the stories on TV about radioactive concrete used in perhaps 100 new apartment building going up. What were they thinking!? The lower basement levels had the highest readings.

    The number of houses and condominiums confirmed to have been built using radiation-contaminated crushed stone quarried near the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant has reached around 60 in Fukushima Prefecture, government sources said Sunday.

    The sources said the total number of buildings could top 100 if more surveys are conducted on the crushed stone that was shipped from a quarry in Namie located near the plant

    Well you find that hard to believe, I find it hard to believe that a functioning test nuclear reactor is in close proximity to Haneda airport! (Ukishima, Kawasaki city), Despite a protest movement by residents who were worried about a possible big Kanto earthquake it resumed operation on December 28, 2011. Toshiba says its maximum output is only small and limited. At least Fukushima incident is now highlighting how wide spread Japan’s addiction to nuclear power is.

    That is shocking. even if it is a small test reactor, having nuclear material in such a built up area is madness.
    Here is more frightening reading. Not Japan but China.
